this piece was inspired by a photograph of my sister and i, our afros pressed together as if they were one-shared halo of connection. as i painted, i found myself enchanted by alien podcasts, my mind wandering to the possibilities of interdimensional travel. the result is a dreamlike vision: the two figures crossing a threshold, their bond carrying them into the cacti city realm, a world brimming with mystery and cosmic wonder.
